About Weddings At Forter
Forter castle is the perfect location for an intimate highland wedding. The castle has its very own unique chapel on site and has many years of experience in hosting weddings. Our luxury Scottish Castle to hire for weddings and other occasions makes the perfect setting for your special day.
We recommend sixteen adults as the perfect number of guests but we can accommodate up to 24 for a day event. Each wedding can be tailor made to suit your requirements and as such we can help you to arrange the fine details that make your wedding wonderful and as stress free as possible such as ceremony, catering, hair, make up, flowers, Ceilidh band, fun entertainment, bag piper etc. We have a wedding packages information document with prices which we will share with you on making an enquiry.
Forter castle is fully licensed to host Civil, Religious, and Humanist wedding ceremonies, same sex marriages and wedding blessings. Two options are highlighted below.
- Civil weddings are very popular at the castle and and can also be conducted by registrars from within the chapel. For more information regarding the legal steps and documentation required visit www.angus.gov.uk/getmarriedinangus or email Angus council directly regforfar@angus.gov.uk
- Humanist weddings can also be a popular option – please contact the Humanist Society

Wedding Venue Surcharge
Please note that the accommodation pricing does not include a £1000 wedding surcharge to enable you and your guests to use Forter Castle as a wedding venue whilst staying at the castle.
